IN THE EYES is a paranormal suspense novel that begins in inner-city Baltimore during the late stages of the Viet Nam War. The protagonist, thirteen year old BOBBY BANKS, must come of age amongst the colorful street characters of his hardscrabble Baltimore life, the curse of a root woman, witnessing the brutal murder of his mother and her fiancee, being taken against his will from his 12-block universe to all white Iota in western Maryland to live with a defrocked Catholic priest and former nun, being ostracized by everyone in Iota, meeting the root woman's curse, and playing a ghastly practical joke on the wicked town bum. Then, as an adult, as a best-selling novelist, he must survive writing the script to his own death.
